Every now and then in the sports world, a team of proverbial David’s takes on Goliath. We have all heard the story. It is the big guy on the block against the up and comer. It’s one side looking for respect and looking to defy the odds. This is what Nivea has advocated with its Great Football Experiment. Nivea has designed this experiment to see whether it can properly prepare a bunch of average footballers in their quest to evolve. With the help of Nivea, this football team will see whether it can truly slay Goliath.

In this instance, Goliath comes in the form of a team full of English football legends. Nivea took applications from all over before it finally settled on Ivory, F.C. as its David. Ivory are a bunch composed entirely of average players with average skill. Fortunately for them, Nivea is going to take them and turn them into a team that will have a chance against a club full of English legends. The experiment will be led by the quality coaching of two football legends themselves. Ray Wilkins and Terry Venables will lead the charge as they prepare Ivory for what it is going to face.

This idea, of course, is to help Ivory work on their fitness and work on their form. Venables and company will put them through a number of world-class practices on their way to the ultimate goal. The idea is that Ivory will get better as a team through proper training and better technique. Not only will the individuals on the club become better footballers, but they will play together as a team with the help of the fine coaches. Once it is all said and done, they will get a world-class chance to compare their talents with a bunch of legends. The experiment will culminate in a game where Ivory gets their shot.

So can David take down Goliath? Nivea thinks that it could happen, but only with the right preparation. That is what the Great Football Experiment is all about and it should be fun to see the result.
